About Us
Welcome to the official website of the Saint Michael – Abatiku Catholic Community, a close-knit family of faith rooted in the peaceful islet of Abatiku, part of Abemama in Kiribati. Our community gathers in worship, prayer, and fellowship under the patronage of Saint Michael the Archangel, our protector and guide.
Though small in size, our Catholic family is rich in spiritual devotion and cultural traditions. We are committed to walking together in faith, uplifting one another, and serving our community through the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Our community is made up of 21 dedicated Catholic households, each playing a unique role in upholding our faith and traditions.

Our Faith & Transitions
Our Catholic faith is the foundation of our lives. We celebrate:
- Holy Mass every Sunday (as available)
- Feast of Saint Michael – our most sacred celebration
- Rosary devotion, family prayers, and liturgical seasons
- Catholic values rooted in love, forgiveness, and service
Despite limited resources, our faith remains strong and joyful, enriched by our local Kiribati customs and respect for elders.

Our Chapel Project
Currently, our community gathers under a temporary shelter for Mass and prayers. We are raising funds to build a new chapel – a sacred space where all can come together to worship, find peace, and grow in faith.
Our chapel will be a beacon of hope for the next generation and a symbol of God’s presence among us.
